Which styles or colours do you absolutely love doing? I love beachy balayage as it is so current and versatile.

Which celebrity hair would you like to get your hands on? Christina Aguilera.  I’ve always loved her but her bleached hair feels very ‘done’ and I would love to make it more current.

What inspires you to create fabulous hair?  I take inspiration from a lot of areas, but I like to keep up with fashion trends.

If you had to live on a desert island, which three hair products would you take with you?  Moroccanoil treatment, dry shampoo and glimmer shine spray as it has UV protection!!

What is your ultimate ambition?  To continue to grow my career in the fashion industry and to find happiness in all I do.

How would you describe yourself in three words? Quirky, lively, imaginative.

Master Colour Expert and Salon Designer Charlotte loves learning new skills to gain more knowledge and experience. She has tonnes of expertise and has been in the industry for more than 18 years. 

Which styles or colours do you absolutely love doing? I love creating different looks so find it difficult to say just one as I love doing what I do and every client is different.

Which celebrity hair would you like to get your hands on? Tom Hardy, so I can talk to him and give him a nice head massage.  Also Daphne Guinness – I have a whole Pinterest page on her to give me hair inspiration.

If you had to live on a desert island, which three hair products would you take with you?  Paul Mitchell platinum blonde shampoo, Moroccanoil treatment and styling cream.

What is your ultimate ambition?  To always smile and make people smile.

How would you describe yourself in three words? Happy, shopaholic, funny.

Senior Designer Debbie has more than 35 years’ experience in the industry. She began her career as a Saturday girl when she was at school and has loved hairdressing ever since.

Which styles or colours do you absolutely love doing? Short feathered hair cuts as they complement the eyes and bone structure.  I love doing a client’s hair from start to finish and making them feel and look amazing.

Which celebrity hair would you like to get your hands on? Ann Widdecombe to give her a style which she could manage, which is stylish and which would make her look good every day.  

What inspires you to create fabulous hair?  Fashion as it is changing all the time. 

If you had to live on a desert island, which three hair products would you take with you?  Kerastase Soleil Protecteur, Soleil shampoo and Lait Richesse.

What is your ultimate ambition?  To live life to the full and be happy and healthy and enjoy my work.

We are delighted to tell you that our Designer Annie returns from maternity leave on April 16th 2018.  Annie will be working on Tuesdays and Thursdays and one Saturday a month.  

If you would like to book an appointment with Annie, her working hours are:

  • Tuesdays: 10.30am – 5pm
  • Thursdays: 10.30am – 8pm
  • Saturday May 12th: 8am – 4pm (and one Saturday a month thereafter).

Our Young Stylist, Elsie, has been working at Blakes since January 2017 where, as an apprentice, she learned all the skills that have made her the fantastic hairdresser she is today.  

Which styles or colours do you absolutely love doing? While doing my apprenticeship learned all types of different things. I love doing big bouncy curly blow dries because they’ve got more character in them.

Which celebrity hair would you like to get your hands on?  I would love to do Rihanna’s hair.  I would take her back to a vibrant redhead again.  I’d also love to do a big bouncy blow dry on Beyonce.

If you had to live on a desert island, which three hair products would you take with you?  Moroccanoil treatment, hydrating cream and curl defining cream to create a beachy look.

What is your ultimate ambition?  My ambition is to own my own salon. I want to be good at what I do so I can keep the salon busy and make people feel good about themselves.

How would you describe yourself in three words?  Happy, energetic, reliable.

Tell us something about yourself that would surprise others…  As well as working in a hair salon, I’m not afraid to get dirty.  I drive vintage tractors as a hobby and compete in vintage ploughing matches!

What do you love about being a receptionist?  I love meeting people and working with the team.

What is your ultimate ambition?  To live a healthy, comfortable life.
