Senior Designer Debbie has more than 35 years’ experience in the industry. She began her career as a Saturday girl when she was at school and has loved hairdressing ever since.
Which styles or colours do you absolutely love doing? Short feathered hair cuts as they complement the eyes and bone structure. I love doing a client’s hair from start to finish and making them feel and look amazing.
Which celebrity hair would you like to get your hands on? Ann Widdecombe to give her a style which she could manage, which is stylish and which would make her look good every day.
What inspires you to create fabulous hair? Fashion as it is changing all the time.
If you had to live on a desert island, which three hair products would you take with you? Kerastase Soleil Protecteur, Soleil shampoo and Lait Richesse.
What is your ultimate ambition? To live life to the full and be happy and healthy and enjoy my work.
How would you describe yourself in three words? Honest, hard working and practical.
Alongside Mike, Annie is one of the co-owners of Blakes. She’s also a Senior Designer and Master Colour Expert and works in the salon on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Annie has 22 years of salon experience and is also our resident chocoholic! In her spare time she enjoys swimming lengths at her local pool.

Manager & Receptionist Diane joined the Blakes’ Front of House team in 2009 and will be one of the first people to welcome you to our salon. Here, Diane tells us a little bit about herself…
What do you love about being a receptionist? I love meeting people and working with the team.
Which celebrity would you like to see what into the salon? Adele, because she is so down to earth.
What is your ultimate ambition? To live a healthy, comfortable life.

Tell us something about yourself that might surprise others… I was Miss Canterbury in 1984.
Alongside Annie, Artistic Director Mike is one of the co-owners of Blakes. He has 26 years of salon experience and is a Wella Master Colour Expert. His wide hairdressing experience includes working at London Fashion Week with Moroccanoil.
In his spare time Mike likes to help out with the local Scout group, going camping with his family and paddle boarding.
